What skill levels do you cater for?

The Skate Club is open to all levels of skateboarders. For children, “Beginner” courses are available for those new to skateboarding and “Improver” courses help those who would like to progress their skateboarding.

Adult group courses are available for beginners and those who would like to brush up on their skateboarding.

Private lessons will cater specifically to the needs of the individual(s) in attendance. Click here to learn more about the array of classes we offer.

How long are your lessons?

Each lesson is 1 hour long. We recommend you arrive 10 minutes early to get your gear on and be ready to skate.

Where are the lessons held?

The majority of our lessons, birthday parties, and holiday clubs will be held at the Loxdale English Centre Portslade, in their indoor sports hall. Occasionally we will offer private lessons for individuals and groups at outdoor local skateparks. However our ramps and coaches can come to a location of your choosing. Email info@theskateclub.com to make an enquiry

What happens when it rains?

Most of our lessons are held in the dry warmth of Loxdale English Centre’s sports hall so we never have to worry about the Great British Weather raining us off.

However Private lessons can be held at local skateparks. In the case of wet weather, we rearrange our lessons to make sure everyone stays dry and safe.

What is the instructor ratio for your group lessons?

For the term-time group lessons, there will be two coaches present for groups of no more than 12.

For lessons held externally where there are groups of 16 to 24 skaters, we have three instructors on hand.

How do I sign up for skateboarding lessons?

We are so pleased you asked! Please click this link to take you to our booking page where you can choose the course that is right for you!

What happens if my child misses a term time class?

Unfortunately, classes are non-refundable. However, if you get in contact we may be able to accommodate you in a different class providing there is space and it won’t disrupt the progression of the other group.

Are parents allowed to stay and watch?

Yes, parents are welcome to stay for our hour-long lessons, but you also are welcome to drop and go once we have registered your child. We have some bench seating, and the parking is free.

For our longer holiday clubs, we encourage parents to make sure their little ones are settled and registered before heading off for the day.

Do you do adult and teen lessons?

Yes absolutely, adult group courses we offer one-to-one private lessons for teens and adults ranging from beginners to advanced.

Do you offer skateboarding at schools?

Yes, we do! Please email info@theskateclub.com and we can go through how we could set up an after-school club or integrate skateboarding into your curriculum.

What is your typical size for your skateboarding lessons?

Our lessons vary depending on the setting. The Skate Club has no more than 12 skaters in each lesson. We want each student to have the space to learn and get one-to-one attention during the lessons.
